Catholic University of Burundi to open Bujumbura campus

Archbishop Gervais Banshimiyubusa has announced the opening of the Bujumbura campus of the Catholic University of Burundi, scheduled to launch in early October. The announcement was made during the opening of the pastoral year at Regina Mundi Cathedral.

During the ceremony, which also marked the 26th anniversary of his episcopal ordination, the Archbishop emphasized the importance of education, stating, “there is no greater poverty than ignorance.” The expansion of the university is framed within the Archdiocese of Bujumbura’s focus on integral development and sharing.
