Catholic youth initiatives launch in Faro and the Azores
Catholic youth initiatives are expanding in Portugal through new spiritual and community-focused projects. In Faro, the Diocese of Algarve has introduced ‘Via³Lab’, a space located at the São José Seminary designed for students and young professionals aged 18 to 35. Supported by the Fundação Jornada, the facility will include a chapel, a meeting room for study and formation, and an audiovisual studio to facilitate digital engagement with the Church.
In the Azores, the Youth Institute of the Diocese of Angra has launched a preparatory itinerary for the ‘Aldeia da Fraternidade’, scheduled for July 2027 in Povoação. The program, titled ‘Aldeia em Construção...’, consists of seven themed meetings starting in October 2024 in São Miguel. The initiative aims to mobilize young people through a series of biblical reflections and community challenges to strengthen their active role within the Church.
