Munich responds to Cathy Hummels' complaint over waste management

Moderator and influencer Cathy Hummels has filed a formal complaint with the city of Munich regarding waste management issues in the Schwabing district. During her podcast ‘Meryl Deep Talk’, Hummels expressed frustration over overflowing public trash bins near a local park, stating that the situation causes environmental concerns as wind blows waste into the streets.

Hummels emphasized the importance of tax contributions, noting, ‘We all pay so many taxes for the trash to be emptied regularly. And you don't pick up the bins.’

The Munich Building Department responded to the criticism, stating that every complaint is investigated and deficiencies are addressed. While acknowledging the report, the department maintained that Munich remains ‘among the cleanest cities in the world,’ attributing increased waste to the higher usage of green spaces.
