CATL partners with Kuehne+Nagel to advance electric vehicle battery logistics
Logistics giant Kuehne+Nagel has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CATL, the world’s leading electric vehicle battery supplier, to enhance electrified transport and battery logistics. The partnership includes transitioning CATL’s transport flows to electric in Europe and piloting a battery-swapping system for heavy-duty trucks in China. The collaboration also aims to address battery recycling, after-sales support, and charging infrastructure to support a carbon-neutral supply chain.
In the broader Chinese market, major electric vehicle manufacturers such as Xiaomi, Li Auto, and Xpeng are increasingly diversifying their battery supply chains. While these companies are adopting multi-supplier models and developing internal battery management systems to reduce dependency, CATL maintains a dominant market position. As of August, CATL held a 41.45% market share in China, accounting for 32.54 GWh of the country’s total 79 GWh installation.
