CATL subsidiary to launch automated facility in Debrecen

GreenPower Energy Debrecen Kft., a wholly-owned subsidiary of CATL Debrecen, is scheduled to begin operations in late October 2026. The facility is located in a new 44,000-square-meter hall within the Debrecen Southern Industrial Park.

The company will focus on assembly, repackaging, machining, and logistics tasks to support CATL’s Hungarian operations and sales. Specific technical activities include module and pack-level assembly, battery repackaging, the operation of a machining workshop, and the repair of manufacturing equipment and components. The facility will not engage in battery cell manufacturing, and the electrochemical processes of the batteries will remain unchanged.

To optimize internal operations and functionally separate business activities, the new site will utilize advanced industrial automation systems. The company expects to employ more than 90 people by the end of the year, pending the acquisition of necessary permits.
