Catral school transport to resume following family complaints

The Generalitat Valenciana has decided to reinstate school transport services for the CEIP Azorín in Catral following complaints from local families. The service, which had been suspended at the start of the school year due to minimum user requirements, is expected to resume this Friday or by next Monday at the latest.

The suspension had caused significant concern, particularly for students with special educational needs. Families had been campaigning for years to maintain the route, noting that the required minimum of 15 students was met when including both direct beneficiaries and authorized users. Local officials, including the Mayor of Catral, Joaquín Lucas, announced the decision after sustained pressure from parents and school representatives.
