Cauca Department Highlights Coffee Fair and Artisan Expo in August 2026
The Cauca Department is promoting its coffee and cultural heritage through two major events in August 2026. In Popayán, the IV edition of the "Cauca Sabe a Café" world coffee fair will run from August 21 to 23, with the National Police’s Carabineros and Environmental Protection unit coordinating security alongside the department’s coffee committee manager Roberto Castrillón Simmonds. Organizers expect the three‑day fair to attract coffee growers, buyers and visitors from across Colombia and abroad, boosting local hotels, restaurants, transport and commerce.
Meanwhile, Cauca showcased its artisanal products at the "Colombia son las Regiones" fair in Bogotá, organized by the National Federation of Departments. Local brands such as Pistilo, Orojas and Arata displayed crafts that blend tradition and design, generating sales of over nine million Colombian pesos on the first day and creating new market contacts for regional entrepreneurs.
