Cauca municipalities improve drainage and rural water supply
In the town of Silvia, Cauca, the mayor Juan Carlos López Morales announced the renovation of the drainage channels and downspouts at the Casa de la Cultura. The work is intended to enhance rain‑water evacuation, prevent leaks and protect the cultural building during heavy precipitation.
Meanwhile, in the rural districts of Agua Negra and Medio Tambo in the municipality of Morales, Cauca, an aqueduct project is advancing. Community leader Oscar Samboní said the new system will give hundreds of families reliable access to potable water, improve sanitation, lower disease risk and reduce the time spent fetching water.
Both initiatives are part of local government efforts to upgrade basic water infrastructure and support community wellbeing in the region.
