Brazil expands mobile health services through specialized medical units
Various municipalities across Brazil are deploying specialized mobile health units to expand access to diagnostic and specialized medical services. In Pernambuco, a Ministry of Health mobile unit in Santa Cruz do Capibaribe is providing approximately 120 daily exams, including CT scans and ultrasounds, for residents of eight regional cities.
In the state of São Paulo, mobile units are targeting specific demographics: an odontological unit in Altinópolis is providing dental care to vulnerable women, while a women's health unit in Franca offers mammographies, biopsies, and specialist consultations to 13 municipalities. In Maringá, Paraná, a pilot project for specialized dental health has launched to reduce waiting lists.
Additionally, several regions are conducting intensive health campaigns. In Ceará, Caucaia has installed a mammography machine at a local hospital to support breast cancer prevention. Other local initiatives include mobile units for pediatric care in São Miguel da Baixa Grande and various 'Pink October' awareness events providing screenings and consultations across several states.
