Caucaia students compete in national rocket olympiad
Six students from the Osmar Diógenes Pinheiro School, part of the municipal education network in Caucaia, have traveled to Rio de Janeiro to compete in the national stage of the Brazilian Rocket Olympiad (OBAFOG).
The competition is being held as part of the 95th Rocket Journey in Barra do Piraí from October 19 to 22. The students, who qualified in teams, are accompanied by science teacher and mentor Rafael Matos and pedagogical coordinator Emanuelly Nepomuceno. To facilitate their participation, the City of Caucaia covered the costs for registration fees and airfare.
The event allows participants to apply scientific knowledge through the construction and launching of rockets, fostering skills in physics, mathematics, creativity, and teamwork while encouraging scientific initiation among young students.
