Caudete installs new water pump to boost municipal supply

The town of Caudete in Spain has begun installing a pump that will draw water from the Los Viñales well and lift it 190 metres to the main reservoir. The well, now deepened to 184 metres, can deliver up to 70 litres per second, enough to meet summer demand. The new pump, positioned 100 metres underground, has a maximum extraction capacity of 60 litres per second and will replace older equipment, lowering electricity consumption. The project also includes a 250 mm PVCO pipeline linking the well to the reservoir, with a total investment of €153 000 including VAT. Once completed, the system will provide a reliable water supply for the town while maintaining operation of the San Miguel well as a backup.
