Caulonia authorities respond to emergency welfare and illegal dumping incidents

In Caulonia, local social services and emergency responders recently managed two distinct community incidents involving public welfare and urban order.

Following a report from relatives living outside the region, social worker Massimo Barbieri responded to a distress call from an elderly woman living alone. Upon finding the woman incapacitated on the floor of her home, Barbieri alerted the 118 emergency services and the Carabinieri. The woman was subsequently transported to the hospital for medical assessment, and social services are working with her family to establish a long-term care plan.

Separately, authorities in Caulonia have begun issuing fines for illegal waste dumping at the Sant'Antonio parking area. Following recent cleanup efforts, the site had become a target for illegal disposal. Through the use of monitoring cameras and reports from local residents, the Municipal Police were able to identify and sanction those responsible for the illicit dumping. The municipal administration has stated it will continue to increase surveillance to protect urban decorum.
