Italy infrastructure: Local road works and safety upgrades underway
Various Italian municipalities and provinces have announced the completion or commencement of significant road infrastructure projects.
In Cerveteri, the “Piano Asfalti 2026” has launched with a 950,000 euro investment. Works are currently underway in Cerenova on via Todi, with further scheduled maintenance in September for several streets in both Cerenova and the town center, including via di San Paolo.
In Caulonia, authorities have completed safety and upgrading works on the 1.5 km Contrada Aguglia municipal road. Funded by the 2023-2027 CAP Strategic Plan for rural development in Calabria, the 147,213 euro project aims to improve connectivity between the Focà district and the SS 106 for residents and agricultural businesses.
Additionally, the Province of Forlì-Cesena has finished a 3.9 million euro restoration project on the SP 9 ‘Cesena-Sogliano’ road. This infrastructure, which serves Montiano, Roncofreddo, and Sogliano al Rubicone, was heavily damaged by floods in May 2023. The works included structural repairs, drainage improvements, and resurfacing. A second phase of restoration, valued at approximately 1.3 million euros, is being planned to further secure the route.
