Causeway Studios announces supernatural mystery game for 2027

Causeway Studios has announced 'The Final Cut of Lilith Cunningham', a supernatural mystery game scheduled for release on PC via Steam in 2027. The title features a desert-noir atmosphere and incorporates full-motion video (FMV) sequences.

The narrative follows Lilith, a mother searching for her missing daughter. Players utilize a mystical film roll called 'The City of Dreams' to edit scenes, which allows them to manipulate reality and alter the world and characters around Lilith. However, these changes carry consequences that players must navigate.

Creative Director Greg Rogers stated that the game aims to expand the studio's design ambitions through surreal storytelling and tactile gameplay. While the game is set within the 'Worlds Across the Causeway' shared universe alongside the 2025 title 'The Haunting of Joni Evers', it offers an independent story that does not require prior knowledge of previous entries. The project draws stylistic inspiration from the works of David Lynch, such as 'Twin Peaks' and 'Mulholland Drive'.
