Cavaliera plant inauguration to enhance hydraulic safety in Italy

The new Cavaliera plant is set for its official inauguration on September 21, marking a major milestone in hydraulic safety for the Burana-Volano basin. The project, completed by the Consorzio di Bonifica Burana over two years, is funded by the European Union through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, and the Emilia-Romagna Region.

The facility is designed to secure over 3,000 square kilometers of territory across the provinces of Modena, Mantua, and Ferrara, providing direct and indirect benefits to a community of more than one million people. The infrastructure serves as a concrete response to the effects of climate change in the Po Valley region.
