Cavalleria Rusticana opera featured in Italy and Brazil

Performances and recruitment efforts for Pietro Mascagni’s opera, ‘Cavalleria Rusticana’, are underway in Italy and Brazil.

In Como, Italy, the Teatro Sociale di Como has launched an open call for amateur singers to join the ‘Coro 200. Com’. The choir is set to perform the inaugural opera of the Como Città della Musica Festival in the summer of 2027. Auditions, led by conductor Pilar Bravo, are scheduled for October 3, 2026, and are open to amateur singers aged 18 and older with no specific musical preparation required.

In Brazil, Cia. Minaz will present a production of ‘Cavalleria Rusticana’ at Theatro Pedro II on September 26 and 27. Conducted by Gabriel Rhein Schirato, the performance features a cast of soloists and the Minaz Choir. The production includes scenography and lighting by Ivo Rinhel D’acol and direction by André Cruz.
