Cavallino‑Treporti bans street bikini walking, fines up to €500

The Italian seaside municipality of Cavallino‑Treporti has introduced a summer ban on wearing bikini or other swimwear on streets and public squares outside the beach area. Violators can be fined between €25 and €500, and local police have already issued dozens of penalties. Mayor Roberta Nesto announced the heightened checks on social media, stressing that the measure aims to respect residents and maintain the town’s appearance for both locals and tourists. The restriction applies to all visitors and is part of a broader effort, with similar rules in other coastal resorts such as Caorle, Eraclea Mare and in Venice, where authorities also enforce dress‑code standards during the holiday season.
