Cavan Londergan, New Jersey Educator Found Dead After Missing Person Search

Cavan Londergan, a 49‑year‑old guidance counselor for the Parsippany‑Troy Hills school district, was reported missing on Sunday. After a multi‑day search, authorities located his body on Tuesday evening in Summerhill Park in Madison, Morris County, New Jersey.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said the death is not believed to be suspicious. Londergan had worked as a teacher and later as a counselor at Lake Parsippany Elementary and Parsippany High School, and in February 2024 the district’s Board of Education approved a settlement with him before his separation. He is survived by his wife and two college‑aged sons, and former students and families have posted tributes remembering his kindness and support.
