Cavan Sullivan tops MLS 22 Under 22 list
Philadelphia Union winger Cavan Sullivan has been ranked number one on Major League Soccer’s annual 22 Under 22 list. At 17 years and 22 days old, Sullivan is the youngest player to ever earn the top spot, surpassing the previous record held by Alphonso Davies.
Sullivan’s breakout season includes seven goals and 13 assists in 20 starts. He also recently made history as the youngest goalscorer in U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) history during a 3–0 victory over Mexico.
Two other Philadelphia Union players, Neil Pierre and Frankie Westfield, also featured on the list, ranking seventh and eleventh respectively. The annual rankings are determined by an expert panel of MLS coaches, general managers, sporting directors, and media members.
