Cavit Çağlar honored by retirees for industrial contributions in Bursa
The Uludağ branch of the Turkish Retirees Association (TÜED) presented two appreciation plaques to former government minister and businessman Cavit Çağlar in Bursa. The awards recognize Çağlar’s long-term contributions to the region's industry, economy, and employment.
TÜED Uludağ Branch President Kenan Pars stated that Çağlar’s factories provided livelihoods for hundreds of thousands of people, allowing them to support families and build homes. Pars noted that the employment generated by Çağlar’s industrial activities has left a lasting impact on the lives of those who are now retired.
During the visit, Çağlar addressed the current economic challenges facing retirees. He described inflation as a ‘monster’ that must be eliminated and called for an immediate review of the living conditions of retirees. He noted that while former employees were once able to purchase homes and vehicles with their severance pay, a significant gap has emerged due to rising costs.
