Caxias do Sul begins Christmas lighting installations

The city of Caxias do Sul has commenced preparations for the ‘Natal Brilha Caxias 2026’ celebrations. The municipal government has started installing decorative lighting across nine blocks of Rua Sinimbu, spanning from Feijó Júnior to Alfredo Chaves. The installation includes two LED panels.

In addition to the decorations, central bus stops are undergoing improvements, including cleaning and repainting. The works are being carried out by the Consórcio Luz de Caxias do Sul. According to the City Hall, funding for the Christmas decorations comes from a specific fund established in 2006, dedicated to public lighting and special projects under a public-private partnership (PPP).

The official opening of the festivities is scheduled for November 18 at 7:00 p.m. on Rua Sinimbu, in front of the Cathedral. The event will feature a performance by Serginho Moah to mark the lighting of the new decorations.
