Caxias do Sul begins pedestrian bridge construction on ERS-122
Construction of a new 52-meter pedestrian bridge has commenced on the ERS-122 highway at km 72.1 in Caxias do Sul. The project, managed by CSG, involves an investment of approximately R$ 3 million and includes access ramps and bus stops.
The work is part of the larger R$ 230 million North Bypass duplication project, which covers 10.9 kilometers of the ERS-122 and is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2027. This broader initiative aims to improve road safety and circulation in a major industrial and logistics corridor, featuring marginal roads, viaducts, and additional pedestrian crossings.
Drivers should expect traffic changes, including the closure of a side street for those traveling south toward Transrio. Additionally, temporary total closures of the highway in both directions were scheduled for rock blasting operations near km 75.4.
