Caxias do Sul to host technical event on citrus cultivation
The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (SMAPA) in Caxias do Sul will host a citrus cultivation field day on September 16. The event aims to disseminate technical knowledge and new technologies to rural producers following the expansion of citrus farming in the municipality.
Currently, Caxias do Sul has approximately 300 hectares dedicated to citrus, split equally between oranges and tangerines. The field day will feature professors and researchers addressing management, production, and phytosanitary control. A primary focus will be the Greening (HLB) disease, which has been confirmed in Rio Grande do Sul and poses significant risks to productivity and fruit quality.
