The departure comes amid various investigations. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is currently looking into potential corruption regarding the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, specifically involving allegations of double payments for a ceremonial cauldron. Additionally, the Office of the Ombudsman has previously sought responses from Alan Peter Cayetano regarding obstruction of justice charges and inquiries into infrastructure projects in Taguig.
