CB Puerto del Carmen presents squad and celebrates 30 years of national handball

CB Puerto del Carmen officially presented its women’s División de Honor Oro squad for the 2026-2027 season at the El Fondeadero Civic Center. The event served a dual purpose: introducing the new roster and technical staff, and commemorating the 30th anniversary of the club’s first promotion to national categories in 1996.

During the ceremony, the club honored the pioneering 1996 squad and coaching staff. Local authorities, including the Mayor of Tías and representatives from the Canary Islands Handball Federation, attended to recognize the club’s three decades of presence in national handball. Officials emphasized the importance of the club’s youth academy in ensuring the project's long-term continuity.

The team, led by coach Jesús Casanova, is set to begin its campaign on September 26 with an away match against Ikasa Boadilla. Lanzarote will have two representatives in the División de Honor Oro this season, as San José Obrero also competes in the category.
