CBD oil may alleviate burning mouth syndrome symptoms

A new study conducted by researchers at the Federal University of Paraná in Brazil suggests that full-spectrum cannabidiol (CBD) oil may help alleviate the symptoms of burning mouth syndrome (BMS).

BMS is a chronic pain condition characterized by sensations of burning, tingling, or numbness in the tongue, lips, or palate, often without visible clinical changes in the oral mucosa. The study, led by Professor Guilherme Klein Parise, indicated that treatment with CBD oil resulted in a significant reduction in pain intensity and an improvement in the oral health-related quality of life for patients. While the results are promising, researchers noted that the small size of the study group means further research is required before it can be considered a medical breakthrough.
