CBF and Brazilian ministries launch campaign against gender violence
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), in partnership with the Ministries of Sports and Women, has launched the ‘Papo de Homem’ campaign. The initiative, themed ‘In football, violence does not enter the field,’ aims to engage men, athletes, and fans in preventing and confronting violence against women.
The campaign was presented at Arena Pernambuco during a women’s friendly match between Brazil and Argentina. It features prominent players such as Vinicius Jr., Endrick, and Estevão to promote social responsibility. The campaign also promotes emergency contact numbers, including ‘Ligue 180’ for guidance and ‘190’ for emergencies.
Alongside the campaign, officials launched the National Social and Sporting Legacy Plan for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. This plan focuses on four pillars: increasing female participation and retention in sports, developing professional opportunities and leadership roles for women, creating safe environments against racism and violence, and enhancing the economic value of women’s football. The plan is intended to be implemented nationwide, aligning with the Women’s Football Law sanctioned in September.
