CBF plans 2027 women's national team friendlies in Brazil

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is planning to host six preparatory friendly matches exclusively in Brazil during the first half of 2027. This strategy aims to build a direct connection with the local audience ahead of the FIFA Women's World Cup, which will be hosted in the country. The technical staff, led by Arthur Elias, intends to use these matches to familiarize the team with the venues used during the tournament's group stage.

Potential venues include the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro and the Mané Garrincha in Brasília, with Mineirão in Belo Horizonte and Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador also being considered. To reach fans in regions that rarely host international women's matches, the CBF is also looking at Manaus and Belém for the team's final farewell matches.

In recent activity, the Brazil women's national team concluded a series of friendlies against Argentina. Following a 3-1 victory in Porto Alegre, the team played to a 2-2 draw in Pernambuco. Despite playing with a numerical advantage for much of the second match, Brazil struggled to capitalize on the opportunity.

The 2027 national football calendar will also see adjustments due to the Women's World Cup. For instance, the Série D will pause between June 19 and July 10 to accommodate the tournament's use of stadiums and training centers.
