CBF announces 2027 Brazilian football calendar and 2026 standings

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has released the official national competition calendar for 2027. The Brasileirão Série A is scheduled to begin on January 27 and conclude on December 1. Notably, the tournament will feature a 41-day hiatus to accommodate the Women's World Cup being hosted in Brazil.

Additionally, the 2027 schedule includes an overlap between state championships and the early rounds of the Brasileirão, as state tournaments are set to run from January 10 to March 7. This overlap is expected to require strategic squad management from participating clubs.

Regarding the current 2026 season, Flamengo holds the lead in the Série A standings with 67 points after 31 matches, according to official CBF data as of October 19, 2026.
