CBF appoints FIFA referee for Atlético-GO vs. Vila Nova derby

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has appointed FIFA-listed referee Matheus Delgado Candançan to officiate the upcoming AtleTigre derby between Atlético Goianiense and Vila Nova. This decision follows a public request from Atlético-GO president Adson Batista, who sought an international-level official to ensure credibility and avoid controversy during the high-stakes Série B match.

Candançan will be supported by FIFA-listed assistant Naílton Júnior de Sousa Oliveira and assistant Evandro de Melo Lima, with Rodrigo Nunes de Sá serving as the VAR official.

Regarding squad updates, Atlético Goianiense will see the return of left-back Guilherme Lopes and forward Marrony to the starting lineup after serving automatic suspensions. However, midfielder Guilherme Marques remains a doubt due to an ankle injury, and David Terans is expected to remain sidelined for specialized treatment until the final stages of the competition.
