CBF considers reevaluating foreign player limits in Brazil
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is considering a reevaluation of the limit on foreign players allowed in domestic clubs. Rodrigo Caetano, the general executive coordinator of the Men's National Teams, noted that the current trend of increasing international rosters may be impacting the development of young domestic talent.
Caetano highlighted that many high-potential Brazilian players are being transferred abroad prematurely, often before they are fully formed. He suggested that the high number of foreign players in Brazilian top-flight teams could be a factor in the reduced opportunities for young local players to gain experience in key positions, such as midfielders.
