The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Satyendra Kumar, a key accused in the long-running fodder scam case, after he had been absconding for approximately 25 years. The arrest took place at the Lucknow Charbagh railway station in Uttar Pradesh while the suspect was traveling by train from Guna, Madhya Pradesh.

Kumar, a B-Pharma graduate from BIT Mesra, is accused of operating a fraudulent pharmaceutical company alongside associate Dinesh Rai. The duo allegedly siphoned off more than 10 crore rupees from the Bihar Animal Husbandry Department by claiming to supply medicines that were never actually delivered.

Following his arrest, Kumar was brought to Ranchi on transit remand and presented before a special CBI court. The court has since placed him in judicial custody at the Birsa Munda Central Jail in Hotwar. Kumar had been hiding in Nepal for a significant period to evade authorities after a charge sheet was filed against him in 2001.
