CBI arrests Jammu and Kashmir Police sub-inspector for bribery
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a sub-inspector from the Jammu and Kashmir Police at the Janipur police station in Jammu for accepting a bribe. The arrest occurred on August 16 after the officer was caught red-handed while accepting 10,000 rupees.
The investigation began following a complaint alleging that the sub-inspector demanded 20,000 rupees in exchange for not registering an FIR regarding a matrimonial dispute. After negotiations, the officer agreed to a reduced amount of 10,000 rupees, leading to the sting operation.
