CBI chargesheet reveals financial pressure in Twisha Sharma death case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet in the Twisha Sharma death case, revealing significant financial motives. According to the investigation, Twisha Sharma held approximately ₹20 lakh in equity investments within a Demat account. The CBI alleges that her husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, pressured her to transfer these funds to invest in the Chinese stock market.

Investigators noted that a joint account was opened at the State Bank of India’s Bagmugalia branch on April 7, 2026, allegedly to facilitate the transfer of these investments. However, Twisha reportedly refused, stating that the money belonged to her father.

A critical piece of evidence includes a phone call made by Twisha to her friend, Rashi Abrol, at approximately 7:51 PM on May 12, 2026, just hours before her death. During this call, Twisha reportedly mentioned that Samarth was pressuring her to transfer her investments for use in the Chinese market. The chargesheet also includes allegations of mental harassment following the loss of her job.
