CBI questions former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore in Ankita Bhandari murder case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has begun questioning former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore in Haridwar regarding the 2022 murder of Ankita Bhandari. The 19-year-old resort receptionist was killed in Uttarakhand after allegedly resisting pressure to provide special services to VIP guests.

The interrogation follows a meeting between the victim’s parents and senior CBI officials. During this meeting, the parents requested that the agency conduct narco-analysis tests on Rathore and actress Urmila Sanawar. This request stems from allegations of a ‘VIP link’ and a recently circulated audio recording involving the two individuals.

The primary accused in the case is Pulkit Arya, the son of a former BJP leader and owner of the resort where Bhandari worked. The investigation continues to face public pressure, with various groups organizing protests and candle marches to demand transparency and justice.
