CBI raids Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s camp office amid corruption probe

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids at eight locations across Punjab and Chandigarh, including the camp office of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The action follows a directive from the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which ordered the probe after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) presented evidence of corruption.

The investigation targets allegations of influence-peddling involving government transfers, policy decisions, tender conditions, and arms licenses. The CBI has registered an FIR against six individuals, including two public servants. Among those named are Rajbir Singh Ghuman, the Chief Minister’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD), who has been summoned for questioning.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has condemned the raids, characterizing them as a political conspiracy by the BJP to defame his government ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. Meanwhile, the Punjab BJP has called for the AAP government to cooperate with the investigation, alleging blatant dishonesty. The Punjab government has approached the Supreme Court to challenge the High Court's order.
