CBOS survey shows lower political interest among Polish women

A recent survey by the Public Opinion Research Center (CBOS) reveals that women in Poland demonstrate significantly lower levels of political interest compared to men. According to the data, only 15% of women report a large or very large interest in politics, whereas 27% of men report similar levels of engagement.

Specifically, 70% of women describe their interest as either medium (45%) or low (25%), while 15% report no interest at all. The study highlights a notable age gap: 21% of women aged 65 and older express high interest, compared to only 10% of women in the 25–44 age bracket and 14% of those aged 18–24.

There is also a growing trend of political disengagement among younger women. The percentage of women aged 18–24 reporting no interest in politics rose by 5 percentage points to 19%, while the figure for women aged 25–34 increased by 7 percentage points to 20%. Despite this lower interest, the survey notes that women's readiness to vote remains stable.
