CBS '60 Minutes' Faces Major Staff Departures Amid Leadership Changes
Veteran CBS newsmagazine "60 Minutes" has seen a wave of departures following editorial changes led by editor‑in‑chief Bari Weiss. Former anchor Scott Pelley was dismissed after a clash with new executive producer Nick Bilton, during which he accused Weiss of "murdering" the program. Pelley has since signed with talent agency Creative Artists Agency as he looks for new opportunities.
Long‑time producer Henry Schuster also announced his exit, describing his departure as "overshadowed" by the forced layoffs of colleagues under Weiss. Schuster highlighted the broader turnover that has included correspondents such as Cecilia Vega and Sharyn Alfonsi, and noted the hiring of Bilton as part of the overhaul. The staff shakeup reflects ongoing tensions within CBS over the direction of its flagship news program.
