CBS News expands 60 Minutes roster with Norah O'Donnell promotion and new correspondents
CBS News announced that Norah O'Donnell has been promoted to a full‑time correspondent for the newsmagazine 60 Minutes. Executive producer Nick Bilton shared the news on X, noting O'Donnell's previous roles as CBS Evening News anchor and contributor to the program.
Alongside O'Donnell's promotion, CBS introduced four new staffers to 60 Minutes: New York Times columnist Ross Douthat, documentary filmmaker Sebastian Junger, former Vice News journalist Gianna Toboni, and senior global affairs correspondent Trevor Phillips. The existing team of Lesley Stahl, Bill Whitaker and Jon Wertheim will continue on the show.
The hires sparked a mixed reaction, with some left‑wing commentators criticizing Douthat’s appointment as a right‑wing influence, while others described the changes as an effort to refresh the long‑running program.
