NCIS: Origins and NCIS feature actor reunions and plot developments

The NCIS franchise is seeing significant character developments and reunions across its various series. In the prequel series NCIS: Origins, Mark Harmon’s character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, is set to reunite with Michael Weatherly’s Tony DiNozzo on the October 20 episode. This marks the first time the two actors have shared the screen in a decade. The storyline follows Gibbs as he seeks help from the new deputy director, DiNozzo, after being shot by unknown assailants.

In the flagship series NCIS, Season 24 has introduced Tony DiNozzo in the role of Director. Recent episodes have explored the friction caused by DiNozzo’s tendency to act more like an agent than a director. Furthermore, a plot twist involving Secretary of the Navy (SecNav) plans has left character Timothy McGee’s future on the team uncertain, as he may be groomed for a leadership position outside the immediate investigative team.
