CBS series ‘CIA’ returns for second season with Tom Ellis

The CBS series ‘CIA’, starring Tom Ellis, is set to return for its second season. The new season is scheduled to premiere on CBS on October 5, with streaming availability on Paramount+ beginning October 6, 2026.

Following the success of the first season, which garnered approximately 8.4 million views across multiple platforms within a week of its release, CBS renewed the show in March. The second season will feature an increased episode count, expanding from 12 to 22 episodes.

Returning cast members include Tom Ellis as CIA Agent Colin Glass, Nick Gehlfuss as FBI Special Agent Bill Goodman, Necar Zadegan as CIA Deputy Chief of Station Nikki Reynard, and Natalee Linez as CIA Analyst Gina Gosian. The plot is expected to follow the aftermath of the season one cliffhanger involving the character Toni, who was discovered to be alive and in CIA custody.

Created by Dick Wolf, Warren Leight, and David Hudgins, the series features showrunner Mike Weiss. Ellis has noted that the cast worked with former CIA operatives to prepare for their roles.
