CBS Sports parts ways with Tony Romo as Portnoy blames Ryan Day for Fox Sports exit

CBS Sports has announced it is parting ways with NFL analyst Tony Romo following his OWI arrest in Milwaukee approximately two months ago. The network stated the separation was mutual, noting that J.J. Watt will continue to partner with Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson on the lead NFL broadcast team. Romo, who had been on indefinite leave, indicated he intends to focus on his health and family. Reports suggest a financial settlement was reached, potentially covering much of the $72 million remaining on his 2020 contract.

Separately, Dave Portnoy has claimed that Ohio State coach Ryan Day was responsible for his removal from Fox Sports’ ‘Big Noon Kickoff.’ Portnoy alleges that Ohio State officials presented Fox executives with a highlight reel of his critical rhetoric regarding the Buckeyes to protest his inclusion on the show. Portnoy further stated that Day believed his commentary constituted ‘doxxing,’ a claim Portnoy disputes.
