CBSA begins $11.9 million redevelopment of Pleasant Camp port of entry

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has commenced construction at the Pleasant Camp port of entry in the Stikine region of northwestern British Columbia. The project is part of the federal Land Border Crossing Project, which aims to modernize and upgrade several low-volume land ports across Canada.

A contract valued at $11.9 million was awarded to Yellowridge Construction Ltd following a competitive procurement process led by Public Services and Procurement Canada. The redevelopment includes improved functional space for officers, a new inspection booth capable of processing both travelers and commercial vehicles, and a detached enclosed secondary garage.

The port, which serves as an economic and cultural link between British Columbia, the Yukon, and Alaska, will remain open to travelers and commercial services throughout the construction period. Services are currently provided seven days a week from 8 a.m. to midnight. While the contract period extends through June 2029, the CBSA expects construction to be completed in 2027.
