CBSE to hold Class 12 re-exams for students in West Asia

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced it will conduct new examinations for Class 12 students in seven West Asian countries. This decision follows the cancellation of regular board exams in the region due to ongoing conflict.

The affected nations include Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Previously, the board utilized a special assessment scheme to prepare results for these students, but the new measure allows candidates to sit for exams in 40 subjects—comprising 20 academic and 20 skill-based papers—to improve their scores.

Eligible regular students from CBSE-affiliated schools and certain private candidates who were evaluated under the initial assessment scheme may apply. The marks obtained in these fresh examinations will replace previous results and will be considered final. For students in the UAE, the registration window is scheduled from September 22 to September 26, 2026, with no examination fees required.
