CCDR NORTE focuses on linking research and industry to boost productivity

Álvaro Santos, President of CCDR NORTE, emphasized the importance of strengthening connections between universities, research centers, and businesses to drive productivity and competitiveness. Speaking at the UMinho Research & Innovation Open Days in Braga, Portugal, he noted that the northern region currently invests approximately 1.7 billion euros annually in Research and Development, exceeding the national average.

The CCDR NORTE and the NORTE 2030 Regional Program are focused on enhancing knowledge transfer to the economy through collaborative projects and innovation networks. This approach is intended to serve as a pillar for the upcoming NORTE 2040 Strategy, aiming to transform scientific and technological capacity into economic and social development.
