Cáceres and Sa Pobla Join VioGén System to Strengthen Protection of Gender‑Based Violence Victims
The municipalities of Cáceres and Sa Pobla have officially joined the VioGén system, a national platform that consolidates reports of gender‑based violence and facilitates coordinated action among local police, the Guardia Civil, the National Police and judicial authorities.
Cáceres Mayor Rafael Mateos highlighted the historic nature of the integration, emphasizing the city’s commitment to providing resources and personnel to support the system’s risk‑assessment tools. Sa Pobla Mayor Biel Ferragut similarly praised the move, noting that it will improve early detection and response for victims while reinforcing police presence in the town.
VioGén enables participating bodies to share case information, standardise protocols and deliver a faster, more effective protective response, representing a significant step toward unified protection for women across the two Spanish municipalities.
