Cáceres driver intercepted while driving to license recovery exam
A 23-year-old man was intercepted by the Guardia Civil in Cáceres, Extremadura, while driving to a Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) examination center. The individual was attempting to take a test to recover his driving privileges after having already lost all his license points.
Authorities discovered the driver had no valid administrative authorization to operate the vehicle. The owner of the car, who was traveling in the passenger seat at the time of the interception, is also under investigation to determine if they knowingly allowed the unlicensed individual to drive.
In Spain, driving without valid authorization can be a criminal offense, potentially resulting in fines, community service, or prison sentences ranging from three to six months. The Guardia Civil noted that this is not an isolated incident, reporting six similar cases in the province over the past year.
