Cáceres hosts competition for best Torta del Casar cheese

Four certified cheesemakers are competing in Cáceres to be named the producer of the best Torta del Casar cheese of the season. The competition, known as the XXVI Cata Concurso, is being held at the Atrio Hotel-Restaurant.

The event is part of the XXXII Torta del Casar Week, which runs from October 5 to 11 and features various gastronomic and cultural activities centered on the Extremaduran product. A professional jury, including experts from gastronomy, journalism, and hospitality, is evaluating the entries under the direction of María Ángeles Hernández, head of the Tasting Panel for the DOP Torta del Casar and Queso de Acehúche.

The winner will be announced by the director of the Regulatory Council, Javier Muñoz, following the conclusion of the tasting.
