Cáceres launches Senior and Healthy program for elderly residents

The Diputación de Cáceres has launched the eighth edition of its ‘Senior y Saludable’ (Senior and Healthy) program, aimed at benefiting over 1,600 elderly residents across the province. With an investment of 105,000 euros, the initiative will run through November and December, targeting 16 associations and four specific municipalities: Coria, Moraleja, Navalmoral de la Mata, and Malpartida de Plasencia.

The program focuses on promoting active aging, combating loneliness, and boosting rural tourism and the local economy. Participants will engage in thermal circuits at various spa locations, including Baños de Montemayor, El Salugral, Fuentes del Trampal, and Valle del Jerte. Activities include health-tailored thermal treatments, educational talks on thermalism, cultural workshops, guided tours, and communal healthy meals designed to foster social connections between different regions.
