Cáceres Provincial Council announces cybersecurity grants and 2027 budget planning

The Provincial Council of Cáceres has launched a call for subsidies totaling 44,528 euros to strengthen cybersecurity for local entities and integral associations within the province. These funds are intended to finance audits of infrastructure, systems, and IT security to detect vulnerabilities, anticipate threats, and define protective measures for digital services. Each beneficiary entity can receive a maximum of 1,936 euros to cover costs related to risk mapping, email security analysis, and the development of remediation plans.

Separately, the Council has begun preparing its 2027 budget. President Miguel Ángel Morales indicated that the upcoming budget is expected to see a “considerable” increase to reinforce policies targeting rural areas, social policies, and cooperation. This planning follows a record 2026 consolidated budget of 227,767,611 euros, which saw an 8.61% increase from the previous year and was approved unanimously by the PSOE and PP groups.
